The Grammy legends The Manhattan Transfer received a warm welcome and a fabulous review! TJ's mentor Arif Mardin had worked with the group members throughout the years but this was the first time Armand produced a concert for the legendary group. One of TJ Armand's passions is modern dance and one of his faves had recently passed away in 2018: The legendary Paul Taylor. Armand produced his first modern dance show as a tribute to Mr. Taylor and Paul Taylor 2 was simply irresistible. Read the review here.

Sadly TJ Armand's dear friend Kathryn Kates passed away on February 15, 2022. Armand cast her for the leading role as Maria Callas in 2019 which was her last long-form live performance on stage, Directed by Albert Cremin. Read the glowing review of Nina Simone Four Women here starring Harriett D. Foy. TJ Armand had cast Harriett D. Foy in Sama's early readings and when he decided to add this amazing play to the lineup for the 44th annual Bermuda Festival, the stage was set for Ms. Foy. The review rightfully states that the themes in the play are as urgent today as they were in 1963.
Sama, a musical Armand has been working on for a number of years garnered its first residency award from National Sawdust. TJ Armand and Carl Paiva were interviewed about the residency which was also showcased at Joe's Pub and 54 Below in 2016.
